Sabato 30 gennaio, nella sede livornese della galleria Il Melograno, sarà inaugurata la mostra personale di Giacomo Ruffa dal titolo “RHYTHM”.
RHYTHM
Nella storia, la musica è stato lo strumento che l’uomo ha usato per esprimere se stesso e le sue emozioni, dalla rabbia alla gioia, dal dolore di sconfitte all’entusiasmo di conquiste.
La musica Techno è un tipo di musica stratificata, ovvero è costituita dall’insieme di vari strati sonori riprodotti contemporaneamente; avviene quindi una perfetta e armoniosa sovrapposizione di tracce musicali. Il flusso sonoro è definito circolare, non esiste né un inizio, né una fine di una traccia, non esiste una logica lineare.
I suoi suoni metallici e alieni ricordano il caos delle grandi città, in cui la techno stessa prende vita: ritmi assordanti e ripetitivi, rumori di lamine e fumo, sono la traduzione musicale della metropoli, della vita frenetica di individui che eseguono senza interruzione le stesse attività ogni giorno, dei cantieri aperti, i clacson nevrotici, l’inquietudine dei fruscii delle strade.
La festa techno procede per ore ininterrottamente e crea come un costante flusso di persone, un continuo riempimento e svuotamento della folla, come fosse la pompa di un cuore.
La musica naturalmente porta ad una sorta di stato di trance, e permette all’individuo di sfuggire dalla routine della società moderna e dall’ennesimo fallimento del sistema capitalistico industriale e tecnologico, trovando in questa musica da sonorità tribali una nuova forma di comunità.
La musica è comunione.

Bio
Giacomo Ruffa nasce a Torino nel 1986. Passa tutta l`adolescenza tra divertimenti e vizi, rave party e clubs. La musica Techno fa da colonna sonora alle notti brave, lo fa sentire parte di una grande famiglia e come lui, tanti di quella generazione.
Nel 2010 è il co-founder di Yourself, progetto rivolto a eventi pittorici, fotografici, video e performances. Nel 2014 si trasferisce a Londra e si unisce al Movimento Oroccoccoro con il quale espone a Londra, Milano, Kuala Lumpur, Bergamo, Berlino, Venezia e Torino.
Dal 2019 al 2020 si dedica alla realizzazione della collezione RHYTHM, opere che raccontano 30 anni di storia dell`evoluzione della musica elettronica in Europa, attraverso opera di pittura materica e gestuale.
La colonna portante del lavoro di Ruffa è l’idea di comunità: con lo stopparsi del mondo, il tema sociale tanto tocca nel profondo ognuno di noi, in quanto abbiamo iniziato a cogliere appieno il bisogno primordiale e primario di socialità e di connessione tra gli esseri umani.
RHYTHM
Throughout history, music has been the tool that man has used to express himself and his emotions, from anger to joy, from the pain of defeat to enthusiasm of a conquest.
Techno music is a type of layered music: it consists of a set of various sound layers played simultaneously; then a perfect and harmonious overlapping of musical tracks takes place.
The sound flow is defined as circular, there is neither a beginning nor an end of a track.
The metallic vibrations are reminiscent of the chaos of big cities, where techno music itself comes to life: deafening and repetitive rhythms, noises of foils and smoke are the musical translation of the metropolis and of the hectic life of individuals who perform the same activity every sigle day.
The techno party constantly goes on for hours creating a flow of people, the dancefloor is continuously filling and emptying like the pump of an heart.
Music naturally leads to a sort of trance state and allows the individual to escape from the routine of modern society and the recurring failure of the industrial and technological capitalist system, finding a new form of community in tribal music.
Music is comunion.
Bio
Giacomo Ruffa was born in Turin in 1986. Both his parents worked as art restorer of pictures, frames and furniture. He grew up in their workshop creating since a very young age a great connection and passion with art.
He lived all his adolescence in a world of fun and vices, rave parties and clubs. Techno music as the soundtrack for good nights, making him feel part of a big family and like him, many others of that generation.
From 2005 to 2012 the dark years arrived due to addictions and emotional shortcomings, but after a long journey he finally managed to put himself back on track and he graduated in Advertising Graphics; thanks to his studies he begun to combine Figurative Art with Digital Art.
In 2010 he became the co-founder of Yourself, a project aimed at pictorial, photographic, video and performance events.
In 2014 he moved to London and joined the Oroccoccoro Movement with which he exhibited in London, Milan, Kuala Lumpur, Bergamo, Berlin, Venice and Turin.
In 2017 he left the Movement and returned to Turin.
He then decided to take a moment to think about what the leitmotif of his life has been. Here he came back to electronic music.
From 2019 to 2020 he dedicated himself to the realization of the RHYTHM collection, a project dedicated to 30 years of history of the evolution of electronic music in Europe, through material and gestural painting.
The strength of the color and its materiality give three-dimensionality to the painting, while the non-definition of the stroke creates the movement and the perspectives guide the work.
Community is at the core of Ruffa’s work; with the world in pause, the social theme touches so deeply each one of us, we begin to fully grasp the primordial need of sociality and of connection between human beings.
