Davide Robert Ross è nato nel 1969 a Mede, in provincia di Pavia, ed è designer e modellista orafo. La sua pittura, espressa spesso con tecniche particolari e l’uso del bianco e nero e del seppia, esplora soprattutto la natura umana. Il soggetto è il punto di partenza, il fondamento sul quale costruire l’indagine. Sottoposto per la sua stessa condizione di esistere alla contingenza e al divenire, e quindi mutevole nella sua sembianza ed esteriorità, viene consegnato ad una dimensione incorruttibile, inalterabile. La materia mutevole diviene un’oggettività immutabile. L’intento è porsi come una luce che illumina e rivela, e che rende possibile intuirne la dimensione più vera, ciò che sta sotto, il pensiero. Ed ecco che il soggetto è offerto al nostro giudizio, per conferirgli nel bene e nel male un attributo, un predicato. All’elemento fisso, immodificabile, si accosta l’elemento contingente, variabile. Non più corruttibile nel suo aspetto esterno, sarà sottomesso alla soggettività dell’analisi.

His painting, often expressed with alternate techniques and the use of black and white and sepia, especially explores human nature.
The subject is the starting point, the foundation on which to build the survey: submitted by its own condition of existence to contingency and to the becoming, and changing his appearance, it’s now delivered to an incorruptible size, and unalterable. The unstable matter becomes immutable objectivity. The intent is to act as a light that illuminates and reveals, and that makes it possible to intuit the true dimension, what lies beneath, the thought. And so the subject is offered at our discretion, for to give it an attribute, a predicate, for better or worse. To the fixed element, unchangeable, approaches the contingent element and variable. No more corruptible in its external appearance, it will be subjected to analysis subjectivity.
